Dr. David Lintner is a native of Syracuse NY, and attended West Genesee HS where he played for legendary coach Mike Messere, earning All County honors as a defenseman. He was a member of four Ivy League champion teams at Cornell University as a LSM, and was named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year( Lacrosse) in 1982. After medical school and orthopedic residency in Rochester, NY he moved to Houston to develop a practice in Sports Medicine. He has remained active in the club lacrosse scene, played for multiple Houston and Texas based teams locally, as well as in tournaments in Florida and Vail CO where he was named a Masters Division All-star. While growing his orthopedic practice, founding a sports medicine fellowship, taking care of the Houston Astros and Houston Texans, and coaching middle school lacrosse at AOS, he founded the Houston Hurricane Lacrosse Club (now the Houston Lacrosse Club) in 2008 in order to provide quality competition and learning opportunities for young lacrosse players in Houston. In 2011 he founded the 7’s for 7 tournament (www.7sfor7.com) played every January in memory of Drew Webb, the first coach of the Hurricane. Dr. Lintner’s goal is to grow Houston lacrosse, and inspire local players to compete at the collegiate level. He attends the NCAA Lacrosse FInal Four annually, and he looks forward to opening the game program and seeing the names of Houston athletes on the rosters.
